I've constantly thought about it; why is this valuable cultural site never made it to UNESCO's World Heritage List. Well (FINALLY) now it's official. The northern ancient city of Madain Saleh has been recognized by the World Heritage Committee of the UN's Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and accordingly been added to UNESCO's global list of heritage sites.
